Jennifer R. Niesen Provides Insights at Two Recent Beverage Alcohol Industry Events
Christopoulos Dickens’ Senior Associate Jennifer R. Niesen shared insightful observations at two prominent beverage alcohol industry events in the Chicagoland area.
In June 2023, as the Chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Food and Beverage Law Committee, Jennifer moderated the program, “Women Working in the Beverage Alcohol Industry,” hosted by the Chicago Bar Association. Jennifer, along with a panel of key female leaders in both the public and private sectors of the industry including Lisa Gardner, the Director of the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, Shannon Trotter, the City of Chicago Liquor Control Commissioner, Pamela Paziotopoulos, Director of Compliance for Reyes Beverage Group and Mara Smith, the CEO and Founder of Inspiro Tequila, discussed current beverage alcohol regulations and changes impacting the industry, as well as shared their personal experiences and the pathways which led them to their current leading roles.
In September 2023, Jennifer presented at the 5th Annual Bock Food Law Symposium hosted by the Illinois State Bar Association.
Her presentation, “Getting into the Spirit: Beverage Alcohol Regulatory Considerations in the Corporate Landscape” explored beverage alcohol regulations that impact a corporate transaction. Jennifer shared regulatory insights to ISBA members that arise at pre-negotiations and during the LOI phase, when advising on corporate structure and drafting purchase, management and lease agreements and discussed pertinent regulations that are implicated when corporate restructuring is sought.
Jennifer’s practice focuses on representing suppliers, distributors and retailers in the beverage alcohol industry. She advises clients on complex transactional and regulatory matters such as production, distribution and importation agreements; federal, state and local licensing matters and application issues; commercial leasing; partnership disputes and trademarks.
